There is great variation in how people see color; what one person considers to be "warm" or "red" may appear differently to another. It can be difficult to communicate clearly about certain hues when every printer and computer monitor displays colors differently.

Compared to subjective descriptions such as "less red" or "a bit warmer," this approach yields significantly more accuracy.
